Assistant Superintendent - Everything Is Back To Normal At Alhambra High

The following statement was issued this afternoon by Martinez Unified School District assistant superintendant Rick Rubino:

"As expected, today was a normal school day. At this time the police feel they have exhausted all leads and that no credible threat remains. I would  like to extend my special thanks to the Martinez Police for their exceptional efforts and support.  They have worked tirelessly to bring this issue to resolution.   I would also like to take this opportunity to commend the Alhambra High School administrative team and staff for their professionalism during this stressful situation.  Principal Nermin Kamel is to be commended for her calm leadership and thoughtful response. 

Although incidents of this nature are disturbing, we have been able to use this as an opportunity to review and refine our safety procedures on all of our campuses. The Martinez Police Department is committed to working with us on this effort.

We look forward to resuming school on Monday without further incident.
