Burglar Caught In the Act, Flees The Scene

A Mont St. Michael Way resident scared off a burglar Thursday, police say.

The resident came home about 4 p.m. to find a burglar in the process of ransacking the home. The resident called police, who responded along with the Contra Costa Sheriff's Department.

By the time police arrived, the burglar had fled. A search of the area with police dogs and helicopters turned up nothing.

The burglar did not get anything from the home.
