β€œI’m sleeping,” Boyle replied.

When Boyle looked out her window, she saw that her car, a 1995 Ford Escort was, in fact, gone. She immediately phoned the police.

β€œBefore I was off the phone to dispatch, I had two officers at my door,” Boyle said. β€œNot more than two minutes had gone by.

The officers put out a bulletin, and ten minutes later a suspect had been arrested.

β€œI’m really happy with PD,” Boyle said Friday afternoon. β€œIt’s amazing how fast they worked and what actually happened.”

She said officers Zack Poertner, Miles Williamson and Dan Dansie were the officers who responded.

A woman was arrested, according to Boyle, on the Vallejo side of the Carquinez Bridge. She reportedly had a large knife, a bottle of alcohol, and some money on the seat of the car when she was pulled over.

β€œI guess she used the knife to hot wire the car,” Boyle said.

Boyle said the police allowed her daughter to bring the car home, rather than impounding it and making Boyle jump through legal hoops to get it back.

β€œThe police were great,” she said. β€œI can’t say enough about the fantastic job they did.”
