Deadline Approaching For Martinez Businesses To Apply For Grants
Eligible small businesses and nonprofits in Martinez have until Oct. 19 to apply for $2,500 micro-grants.
MARTINEZ, CA — Small businesses and nonprofits in Martinez that incurred financial loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic have until Oct. 19 to apply for microgrants of up to $2,500.
For-profit businesses are eligible to apply if:
- They had no more than five employees in 2019, and currently have no more than five employees
- They reported gross revenue of under $50,000 in 2019
- They operated before Dec. 1, 2019, and are still in operation
- They served as the owner’s primary source of revenue
- They can demonstrate that they lost revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic
- They have not received California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant funds
Nonprofits are eligible if:

- They were operating in 2019 with $1000 to $50,000 in revenue
- They are still in operation and are registered with the California Secretary of State
- They can produce a 990 filing and registration
- They have not received California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant funds
Eligible expenses must be incurred due to the pandemic and include payroll costs, health care expenses, rent, utilities, mortgage, reopening, safety supplies, and more.
