This is the second smash and grab at a jewelry store at the mall this year.
CONCORD, CA — Suspects used hammers to break display cases before fleeing the scene at a jewelry store inside the Sunvalley Mall in Concord, according to the Concord Police Department.

Some witnesses initially reported gunfire, but officers determined that no shots were fired during the incident, police said.

In July, three masked suspects did a smash-and-grab robbery at a jewelry kiosk in the middle of the day. According to police, one suspect pepper sprayed an employee at the Jewelry Time kiosk, while the others smashed glass display cases and made off with handfuls of merchandise.
The suspects then fled in a getaway car.
It is unknown if the same jewelry store was burglarized Sunday, or if the suspects were the same.
