Driver Killed In Martinez Crash Identified

MARTINEZ, CA — A 37-year-old man killed in a crash last week in Martinez has been identified as David Elizarraraz, according to the Contra Costa County coroner's office.

Elizarraraz, a resident of Martinez, was driving a car that crashed at about 10 p.m. Thursday into a parked commercial vehicle in the 800 block of Howe Road, police said.

Emergency crews had to remove Elizarraraz from the car and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said it appears he was the only occupant of the car. The cause of the crash has not been released.
