Easter Events in Martinez: Egg Hunt, Fun with the Kids, Church Services

From Good Friday through Easter Sunday, Martinez is hopping with things to do to celebrate Easter 2012. The festival of Passover begins sundown Friday.

First came spring, then came Easter and Passover. For Christians, the season of Lent comes to end after Holy Week, with Good Friday recognizing the crucifixion of Jesus and Easter Sunday celebrating the resurrection and new life. For those following the Jewish faith, Passover begins Friday evening and commemorates the exodus of the Jews from Egypt and freedom from slavery.

Most Americans celebrate rebirth at Easter by decorating hardboiled eggs and going on a family Easter egg hunt. What are your Easter traditions? Here are some events and religious services to get the season hopping.
