
It's THURSDAY, Feb. 10, 2011. It is another of those amazing February days when the sun says "spring," but the temperature says "not so fast." It is also what they call in the business a slow news day, in that there is not that much going on in terms of events. 1.    If you’re a member of the , you’ll be seeing yours truly make a presentation about Martinez Patch during the lunchtime meeting. If you’re not a member, at least you can read Martinez Patch whenever you want. And think about joining Kiwanis. It’s a great organization.
2.    Thinking about a new dentist? There is a ribbon cutting today for Artesa Dental at 4041 Alhambra Ave. at 5:00 p.m., followed by a Mixer from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with catering by Wilma Lott. No word on if there will be free floss or toothbrushes for door prizes, but there are sure to be lots of bright, shiny smiles all around.

3.    Got the gambling bug and an AARP card? Head down to the Senior Center at 818 Green St. for at noon, and at 1:00 p.m.
4.    It doesn’t happen until Friday, but reservations are required for the My Little Sweetheart Valentine Dinner and Dance Party on Feb. 11 at the Pleasant Hill Community Center, 320 Civic Dr. in Pleasant Hill. The dinner/dance party is for kids and their parents, and children under two are welcome. Dinner includes pasta, salad, bread and dessert. Cost is $10 per person.
