Inmate's Death Appears To Be 'Health-Related'
The 46-year-old died Wednesday at the Martinez Detention Facility.

MARTINEZ, CA – The death of a 46-year-old male inmate who was found unresponsive at the Martinez Detention Facility Wednesday morning appears to health-related, Contra Costa County sheriff's officials said.
The incident began around 10:35 a.m. when sheriff's deputies were serving lunch to inmates at the jail.
During the meal service, deputies discovered that an inmate was not responsive and called for medical assistance. Firefighters and ambulance responded and life-saving measures were attempted, however, the inmate eventually died, according to sheriff's officials.

The inmate has not been identified.
The death is being investigated by the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office and the District Attorney's Office.
