Lego Adventure at the Library

Calendar Editor Celeste Altus took her children to the Lego event at the library last week and captured these moments.

Martinez Patch Calendar Editor Celeste Altus has two young children — Sofia and James — which she took last week to the Lego event at the Martinez Library. She filed this report and photos:

Charles Esseltine, who not coincidentally used to work in a Lego store,  brought along some of his and Mrs. Esseltine's finer creations, the Batman logo, Ghostbusters monster, and the firehouse among them.

There were about 15 children there from about ages 1-12 making Lego houses, boats, cars, you name it, with all different kinds of Legos.

My kids really enjoyed it, except for when I had to take away the occasional piece James tried to eat.

Did you know Legos were introduced in 1959? Charles told us that. And there are more Lego pieces than there are people in the world.
