Man Arrested After Crashing Into Home Saturday Morning

Residents of a home at the corner of Sundance Place and Morning Glory Lane had a very rude awakening at 3:30 Saturday morning as a car crashed into their home. No one was hurt, but there was some damage to the home.

According to Martinez police Sgt. Bryan Dodd, police were trying to pull over a suspect on Arnold Drive. The suspect tried to evade officers by turning left on Sundance Place, but because he was driving so fast, he lost control and crashed into the backyard and the home on Morning Glory Lane.

After a brief chase, officers arrested Joel Schlichtmann-Enghlish on suspicion of drunk driving and resisting arrest.
