MARTINEZ, CA — Martinez police said Thursday morning to avoid the F Street pedestrian bridge, which crosses Alhambra Creek one block east of Alhambra Avenue near Safeway.

The bridge is closed and expected to be removed as soon as possible due to continued erosion. Police ask people to avoid the area.

The recent storms eroded the footing underneath the bridge, leaving several utility lines potentially compromised and at risk should the bridge collapse.
