Martinez to Hold First 'Reuse Roundup'

Items needed include: housewares, clothing, bicycles, toys, and costume jewelry.

An event by "Christmas for Everyone" Saturday in Martinez will help residents dispose of items they no longer need, which will go to others less fortunate.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a drop-off will be held at the Alhambra High School parking lot. Items will go toward Christmas presents for other families.

Items needed include: housewares, clothing, bicycles, toys, and costume jewelry.

Residents are discouraged from bringing mattresses, large furniture, electronics, stuffed animals, or overly worn items.

"Christmas for Everyone" has provided Christmas Day to many of the county’s working poor, seniors, and homebound for more than 27 years. Contact Marie Knutson, 671-5814 or mknutson@republicservices.com for more info.
