Masked Man Arrested At East Bay Shopping Center

EAST BAY, CA -- A masked man armed with a loaded handgun was arrested near a shopping center in the Contra Costa County city of Concord, police say.

Several people at the Concord Terminal Shopping Center on Clayton Road called police around noon on the afternoon of Jan. 12 about a man prowling around the area in a face mask, according to authorities.

Upon arrival, officers located the suspect, 37-year-old convicted felon Jabari Mackey, and detained him near the back of Luigi's Deli. Officers say they found a loaded pistol and syringe in his backpack.

As a felon, Mackey is prohibited from possessing guns. He was arrested and booked in the county jail in Martinez.
