New Concession Stand, Restrooms Coming To Martinez's Hidden Lakes Park
Also, a new playground was just installed at Cappy Ricks Park. Both projects were delayed by the pandemic.

MARTINEZ, CA —A new concession and restroom building is near completion at Hidden Lakes Park, along with new ADA and pedestrian pathways leading to the baseball fields, the city of Martinez said in a news update.
Because the project will not be completed before the start of this year's baseball and softball season, alternate access points will be established for baseball teams and their loyal fans at the 26-acre park.
Elsewhere in Martinez, a new playground was just installed at Cappy Ricks Park. The city expects the playground at Brown and Arreba streets will open in the coming weeks once safety inspections have been completed.

Both projects were funded by Measure H, which was approved by voters in 2008 to finance improvements to the city's parks, library and swimming pool.
Originally scheduled for construction in 2020-2021, the Hidden Lakes Concession/Restroom project was delayed due to COVID-19. The project involves replacing the concession/restroom building with facilities that are ADA-compliant, providing ADA access between ballfields, and repairs to fencing. The construction cost was estimated at around $600,000.

Also delayed by the pandemic, the Cappy Ricks Play Equipment Project replaced the under-utilized tot-lot play equipment with equipment more appropriate for children 5-12 years old. This project was estimated to cost $170,000 in Measure H funds.
