Sea Scout Regatta April 2
Ships and crews from around the Bay Area will compete in nautical skills.
Ships from throughout the Bay Area will compete in a variety of nautical events on Saturday, April 2, at the 31st annual Seafarers Regatta at teh Albatross Sea Scout Base, 225 N. Court Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sea Scout ship the Albatross will join other Sea Scout ships in a variety of events geared towards demonstrating the scout's mastery of water safety, boating skills and knowledge of maritime heritage. Events include demonstrations of such maritime skills as heaving line, compass and relative bearing, knots, ring bouy, rope climb, scuttlebutt, marlin spike, and dinghy race.
Sea Scouting is a co-educational program offered to young adults (male and female) between the ages of 14 and 21.Sea Scouting is organized to promote better citizenship and to improve members' boating skills and knowledge through instruction and practice in water safety, boating skills, outdoor, social, and service experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage.
