SWAN Day Promises Art, Entertainment Under (Hopefully) Sunny Skies

More than 50 artists will show their work, while music, dancing and entertainment will be highlighted at the old train station.

The sun is threatening to come out tomorrow for SWAN (Support Women Artists Now) Day, an event that will feature over 50 artists, musicians, dancers and entertainers. It all happens from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the old train station at the end of Ferry Street.

β€œThere will be as many if not more artists at this event than there are at Art in the Park,” said Cathy Riggs, president of the Martinez Arts Association. β€œThis is an event whereΒ  people can shop locally, and find that something special for Mother’s Day. We really hope folks will come down and support this event.”

But the event is not all about shopping. There will be face painting, crafts for kids, and a wide array of entertainment, including belly dancers, musicians, and much more.
