Remembering Martinez Reunion Committee Gives Back

The reunion group provided donations to the Boys and Girls Club and the Martinez Historical Society.

The Remembering Martinez multi-decade reunion that pretty much took over downtown Martinez Aug. 17-19 was, by any measure, an unbridled success. The organizers put together a fantanstic weekend of get-togethers for people from near and far, many of whom hadn't seen each other in many years. A car cruise, a Main St. dance, and several meals were among the highlights of the event.

But it didn't end there. The committee that put the event together also manage to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club, and the Martinez Historical Society.

On Sept. 25, the reunion committee presented the Boys and Girls Club with a check for $10,000, and a check for $1,000 to the historical society.

"The committee continues to recognize and show gratitude to the generous event sponsors," according to a committee press release. "In addition to largely making the reunion possible, their support enabled monetary gifts to be made to these deserving organizations."
