• Two arrested, 24 cited during DUI enforcement operation (menifee247.com) — Menifee police arrested two drivers and cited 24 others during a weekend DUI and license checkpoint at Newport and Murrieta roads, where more than 1,300 vehicles were screened. Several unlicensed drivers were caught and three vehicles were towed. Police say another checkpoint is planned on a future date, backed by state traffic safety grant funding. 
• Menifee Man Killed In Beaumont Crash (patch.com) — A Menifee resident was killed in a motorcycle-SUV collision in Beaumont, highlighting a tragic loss for the local community. The 40-year-old rider died at the scene after being struck by a turning SUV, and CHP investigators say drugs and alcohol are not suspected. Southbound SR-79 was temporarily closed during the investigation.
