Boyfriend Arrested After Allegedly Shooting Girlfriend
East Palo Alto Police updated investigation on Facebook.

A man was arrested Monday for being a felon in possession of a firearm and violating his probation after he allegedly shot his girlfriend in her living room in East Palo Alto on Sunday night.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the apartment on Newell Court shortly before 10 p.m. When police arrived, they saw that 18-year-old Secret Snowden had been shot. She was taken to Stanford Hospital and is expected to survive.
Her boyfriend, Lamont Coleman, 20, had placed his loaded handgun and put it on his lap while they were "horsing around in the living room," according the East Palo Alto Police Department's Facebook Page. The gun discharged and a single bullet struck Snowden.

Coleman, at the request of police, went to the department to meet with investigators today. He was booked into the San Mateo County jail. The gun had not been located as of 7:43 p.m. Monday.
