Update: Mechanical Issue Delayed Caltrains

All trains are back on schedule after one broke down at the Menlo Park Caltrain station this morning.

Passengers on the disabled train, southbound train No. 220, were picked up by train No. 332, which was scheduled to make all local stops, said Christine Dunn, Caltrain spokeswoman.  

"At 9:00 a.m. the crew was able to start the train that broke down and move it to a siding in Redwood City," Dunn said. "The train will remain there until the morning commute is over and then it will be taken to our maintenance facility in San Jose." 

Dunn said several southbound trains were delayed by up to 14 minutes because the broken-down train was blocking the track. The northbound 231 was 19 minutes late. Barring unforseeable events, all trains will be running on time this afternoon, Dunn said.
