The Santa Clara Co. man lost control of his motorcycle when he missed a curve on the windy SR-35 northeast of La Honda, according to CHP.

MENLO PARK, CA — A 26-year-old Campbell man was killed late Sunday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle on state Highway 35 (La Honda Road) northeast of La Honda in unincorporated San Mateo County, the California Highway Patrol said.

The accident was reported about 11:40 a.m. Sunday, when a 2012 Yamaha motorcycle driven by the Campbell man apparently missed a curve on this winding roadway about a mile southwest of the state Highway 35 (Skyline Boulevard) junction, the CHP said.

The motorcycle went down an embankment off the roadway, landing about 40 feet beneath the roadway, the CHP said. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
