CAUTION: CHP to Set Up DUI Checkpoints Saturday Night

To deter drunk driving, the California Highway Patrol will stop cars during a four-hour period at locations throughout the Peninsula and South Bay.

Don't drink and drive.

That's the simple message that the Redwood City Area Office of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) hopes to make clear on Saturday, July 14 with several checkpoints.

While the locations of the checkpoints have not yet been released, expect them to be anywhere in both the Peninsula and the South Bay areas from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.

According to a CHP press release, "Members of our community are injured or killed on local roadways by impaired drivers. It is the Department’s goal to use this enforcement tool to assist with the reduction of injury and fatal collisions that are caused by drunk drivers."
