Driver in Fatal Crash Identified
Identity of driver who may have caused a seven-car pile up released.

The man killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Menlo Park Tuesday night has been identified as 78-year-old Newark resident Andres Berdeja, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.
Berdeja was driving a green 1994 Pontiac sedan on the westbound Marsh Road on-ramp to U.S. Highway 101 at around 9:40 p.m. at high speed when he lost control of his car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
He collided with several vehicles and crashed into the center divider.
Berdeja suffered serious internal injuries in the crash and was taken to Stanford Medical Center for treatment. He later suffered cardiac arrest and succumbed to his injuries, CHP officials said.
A 10-year-old girl who was a passenger in another vehicle was also injured.
