Today is National Puppy Day, established in 2006 as a way to "to celebrate the magic and unconditional love that puppies bring to our lives," according to the website.

March 23 is also a day to save orphaned puppies; call the Peninsula Humane Society if you feel the urge to adopt a new snuggle buddy.
