Menlo-Atherton High School Lockdown Lifted

City officials say police received a call about a student who was possibly armed with a handgun on campus.

ATHERTON, CA — The lockdown at Menlo Atherton High School in Atherton has been lifted, according to city officials.

The city of Atherton said in an announcement that that around 11:30 a.m., police received a call of a student in a bathroom who was possibly armed with a handgun. Officials said police searched the restroom and were clearing the classrooms.

City officials said it was confirmed that the subject police were looking for was not on campus.
