Menlo’s Aspiring Lawyers Beat Colleagues from South San Francisco

"I'm rocking my lucky mustache socks, so that shows just how excited I am for Thursday," senior attorney Brett Caplan said.

At the heart of the case was the relationship between two childhood friends, Ryan and Becca.

Ryan was about to inherit $20 million. But Becca had evidence that could prevent Ryan from receiving the money. Determined to keep her from interfering, Ryan followed Becca from a desert music festival and killed her.

That’s what the prosecution argued during the San Mateo County Mock Trial competition Tuesday night. Teams from Menlo and South San Francisco weighed their positions.
