No Dogs Allowed At Oak Knoll Elementary

School administrators say it's not okay to bring them to school "tucked in a bag."

administrators are asking parents and students not to bring dogs to school to avoid negative experiences for students.

Dogs are not allowed on campus at all, according to the school's website.

The Parent Teacher Organization emailed parents a message Sunday night that said the school does not allow canines on leashes, puppies held in someone's arms, or dogs "tucked in a bag."

"While you may think that the dog you are holding in your arms is perfectly harmless, it may not seem that way to a child who has severe dog allergies," states the message.

"That child may be looking around at all the children petting your dog wondering which of those children is now going directly to the same after-school class, not having washed hands, with pet hair or saliva on their hands," it states.

The PTO said the goal of the message is to encourage students to learn to follow the school rules.
