Oct. 14 is Steve Jobs Day

Silicon Valley employees expected to sport black turtlenecks to remember him.

Steve Jobs fans are remembering him today by asking the world to wear black.  Black turlenecks that is.

A tribute website is asking Jobs fans to dress like him today and then upload a photo of themselves to the site.

Although it is still early in Silicon Valley, reaction to the day has streamed through social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter.

The official Twitter account for the event is encouraging people to tweet about it with the hashtag #stevejobsday.

The tweeting has begun.

@silversly says, "I'm not wearing my black turtleneck today so people don't think I'm part of that O' so very stupid #stevejobsday."

"Happy to remember the man who created the devices that I can't imagine living without. #stevejobsday thank you for changing the world," tweeted @Jiffy877

@Emily30075 said, "Black turtleneck. Check. Jeans. Check. Running shoes to work? I just can't do it! #stevejobsday."

Fans have also started writing on the wall of the Facebook page for the day.  Steve Jobs Day is not affiliated with Apple.
