About 40 people are without electricity in central Menlo Park, after a tree collided with power lines, resulting in four power outages.
The outages began at about 4:56 p.m., and originally impacted about 700 Pacific Gas & Electric customers.
“Tree vegetation came into contact with a primary span of wire at the corner of Middlefield and Prior Lane,” said PG&E Spokesperson Jana Morris about the cause of the outages.
The areas of town that experienced a loss of power were between Valparaiso Ave/ Glenwood Ave and Willow Road, as well as between University Ave and Middlefield.
Power to about 670 customers had been restored as of 6:30 p.m., according to Morris.
The remaining customers will remain without power until repairs until repairs can be completed. Morris said power should be back on by 9 p.m.
