Photos: Menlo-Atherton Parade of Graduates
Seniors donned gowns and intricately decorated caps to walk on Coach Parks Field for the last time.
The soft, squeaky sound of Mylar balloons lobbing together was heard as wind rustled the robes worn by 377 Menlo-Atherton High School seniors who graduated on Thursday.
Groups of gangly teenagers roamed the stands of Coach Parks Field with their friends and families, waiting for the ceremony to begin. They occasionally shrieked, seemingly for the sheer delight of making noise. Often their shouts were punctuated by the squawk of a foghorn.
And then the Menlo-Atherton Concert Band began to play "Pomp and Circumstance," which marked the beginning of the parade of graduates.
