Police Seek Home Invasion Suspects

Menlo Park police are asking residents to help them identify hoodie-garbed men who kicked their way into a Windmere Avenue house.

Menlo Park police are investigating a home invasion robbery that happened Sunday on Windmere Avenue.

Two men wearing hoodies kicked the side garage door open and ransacked the residence at about 5 a.m.

One man was wearing a dark hoodie pulled over his face when he confronted the 88-year old homeowner, said Nicole Acker, Menlo Park police spokeswoman.

The home invader hit the homeowner over the head, rendering him unconscious for about two hours, after which he called the police.

Police think that this incident may be related to the attempted break-ins that happened on Central Avenue and Laurel Avenue, given that they also occurred around the same time of day, according to Acker.  The would-be intruders similarly tried to kick down the front doors of the house, wearing hoodies, according to police reports.  No concrete evidence suggests the individuals may be one and the same; police do not know the identities of the suspects.

Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of these individuals are encouraged to call the police at (650) 330-6300
