Politicians Expected to Announce Doubling of Energy Efficiency Rebate

San Mateo County homeowners can get up to $8,000 in rebates.

Homeowners in San Mateo County who make their homes more energy efficient will soon be eligible for up to $8,000 in rebates.

San Mateo County officials plan to announce this morning that they will match the $4,000 in incentives provided by PG&E.

The double rebates will continue through March.

The money is being made available through a statewide program called Energy Upgrade California, which is aimed at helping homeowners save money and energy.

The program is being funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
