Relief from the Common Pharmacy

If the rain and cold has you constantly sniffling and coughing, you can head to a new pharmacy in Millbrae to treat your ailment.

Royal Pharmacy, on 1111 El Camino Real, opened its doors to the public on March. 2 and held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with several city officials and local business owners.

“I saw the need for a different kind of pharmacy,” said Eric Wong, president of Royal Pharmacy. “I want to take time with customers and educate them.”

Wong, a registered pharmacist, has worked at Walgreens and was a distribution manager for Rite Aid, but after 22 years in the business, he wanted to adopt a service-oriented approach to pharmacies.

Royal Pharmacy will offer free seminars about twice a month on topics such as diabetes and hyper-tension, and it will also deliver medicine throughout San Mateo County.
