Mayor Launches Office Hours
In the City Council's ongoing efforts to reach out to the community, Garry Lion schedules weekly office hours to allow residents in-depth meetings by appointment.

While local residents have a chance to bend the ear of members of their most Saturday mornings, new Mayor Garry Lion has expanded that outreach to include .
Lion, as part of the City Council’s annual mayoral rotation, has blocked off 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in his calendar each Monday to meet with residents by appointment at City Hall.
“It’s a supplement to the time we spend in the plaza and a chance to delve into things in greater detail and with some privacy,” Lion said.

The setting affords Lion the ability to pull city staffers into the meetings if necessary to discuss specific issues with residents. For a recent meeting with a resident about the , Lion pulled in City Manager Jim McCann and Planning and Building Director Mike Moore.
The meetings, which precede Lion’s weekly meeting with McCann, are by appointment only, and will take place on Tuesdays if that week’s Monday is a holiday, as was the case earlier this month. Interested residents can schedule an appointment by contascting City Clerk Kelsey Rogers at krogers@cityofmillvalley.org or call 388-4033 x 102. Alternative meeting times are available as needed.
