Over the years, there has been confusion regarding terms used in the Municipal Code, such as "running at large" and "under immediate control." Clarification of the rules and language will be helpful for dog owners while respecting the community's intrinsic affinity for our four-legged friends. Staff recommends modifying the wording of our Municipal Code to more closely align with the Recreation Department's policies and practices, which will provide better public understanding of the current dog control laws.
