Marin Fire's Water Rescue Team Joins Life-Saving Flood Efforts In Washington: Watch

MARIN COUNTY, CA —A special unit from Marin County Fire has deployed to Washington to assist crews battling severe storms and flooding.
The Marin County Fire Department's Water Rescue Team left early Friday to support search-and-rescue operations, evacuations, and other critical flood-response needs.
This deployment is part of California’s mutual aid response system, which allows resources and personnel to be shared across state lines during emergencies. Marin County Fire Department personnel are assisting in Washington after back-to-back atmospheric river storms caused life-threatening flooding, according to the department.

The team will remain in Washington through Thursday, supporting recovery efforts alongside other California Office of Emergency Services swiftwater and flood rescue teams. Team members are trained in swiftwater rescue, boat operations, and complex flood response as part of a coordinated effort.
