MILL VALLEY, CA — Tam Valley Elementary School will unveil a new 500-square-foot mosaic mural completely created by students Friday morning.

At 8:15 a.m. Friday, the elementary school will present the mural at an all-school outdoor assembly.

In partnership with Create Peace Project, a nonprofit that promotes arts education and peace worldwide, the elementary school had every student participate in the design and assembly of the mural over the past few weeks.

“It’s a powerful celebration of creativity, teamwork, and community spirit, and a lasting gift from this year’s fifth grade class,” said Eric Edelson of Fireclay Tile, which makes the tiles used in the project.

The mural was sponsored by local fifth grade parents and students, and it used sustainably made, California-produced tiles.
