19-Acre Fire Burning In East San Jose Hills 100% Contained

SAN JOSE -- A wildfire southeast of San Jose was 100 percent contained after growing to 19 acres on Sunday.

Firefighters from the San Jose Fire Department first responded at 8:24 a.m. on Saturday to the fire burning in dry vegetation just inside the San Jose city limits near Meadowlands Lane and Wild Meadow Way.

The fire spread south into an unincorporated area of Santa Clara County and became a joint Cal Fire response at about 9:30 a.m. as Cal Fire's Santa Clara Unit responded to flames near San Felipe Road and Las Animas Road. Cal Fire dubbed it the Felipe Fire.
