4 Arrested In Milpitas Linked To San Jose Storage Burglaries: Police

MILPITAS, CA — A Milpitas man and three other suspects are accused of stealing hundreds of thousands in valuable items from storage units in San Jose, according to police.

Investigators said San Jose detectives arrested the four suspects in Milpitas last week and recovered a large cache of stolen items taken during a string of burglaries. In a news release Tuesday, police said the investigation began in late December when a man forced his way into two storage units on Lincoln Avenue and fled the area before stealing anything.

The department's Financial Crimes Burglary Unit opened an investigation and discovered the same man was linked to two other burglaries at storage facilities in January and February, along with three other suspects, police said.

Police estimated nearly $400,000 in property was taken during the latter two burglaries.

Investigators identified the four suspects Tuesday as:

• Ricky Lartigue, 43, of San Jose
• Frank Torres, 44, of San Jose
• Monique Lartigue, 45, of San Jose
• Andrew Fernandez, 19, of Milpitas

Detectives secured warrants for the suspects' homes and arrested all four suspects last week in Milpitas, police said. According to investigators, search warrants revealed several guitars and other musical equipment taken during the burglaries, along with other property valued at $60,000. Investigators said they also discovered items stolen during other crimes, along with a loaded pistol, a high-capacity magazine, 2,000 rounds of ammunition and drugs.

The four suspects were booked into the Main Jail on suspicion of multiple crimes, including burglary, conspiracy and grand theft. Detectives ask anyone who had items stolen from a storage unit to reach out to investigators at 408-277-4401.
