Calaveras Fire Near Reservoir Fully Contained: Cal Fire

The incident deemed 3 separate blazes east of Milpitas prompted Cal Fire to dispatch aircraft and it's now at full containment: Cal Fire.

MILPITAS, CA — Firefighters have fully contained wild land fire incident near the Calaveras Reservoir east of Milpitas that amounts to three separate blazes fully contained at 10 acres Friday afternoon, Cal Fire reported.

Aircraft was released, with ground resources expected to remain on scene for up to four hours to complete the fire lines and conduct the mop-up.

No structures were threatened, and no one was reported hurt.

Motorists and visitors to the rural unincorporated area of Santa Clara County are advised to use caution in the area.

The Calaveras Fire is seen as "a wisp of smoke" in comparison to a controlled burn in progress n the Gabilan Range east of Salinas, Cal Fire spokesman Jim Crawford said. The controlled burn is visible from Hollister, San Benito County as well as Santa Clara and Salinas valleys.
