MILPITAS, CA — The California Highway Patrol reports a fatal crash on southbound I-880 in Milpitas Friday morning. According to Bay City News, the victim was a 41-year-old San Jose woman, whose name has not been released. The crash started with a two-vehicle collision at 3:54 a.m. at the Tasman Drive off-ramp. There was debris in the roadway from the crash, which soon resulted in other vehicles crashing. A sig-alert was briefly issued at 4:13. The coroner was requested to dispatch to the scene at 4:50 a.m. All lanes were clear at 6:53 a.m. The cause of the collisions are under investigation.
