A resident's surveillance camera assisted officers spot the Milpitas man, who according to police, was apprehended with drugs.

MILPITAS, CA — A 23-year-old Milpitas man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and trespassing when officers recognized him as the man caught in one of the resident's surveillance camera footage, the Milpitas Police Department reported Wednesday.
A resident in the 1300 block of Lassen Avenue called police at 12:32 p.m. on June 1 when she heard a thumping sound in her family room and heard someone walking in the hallway.
Although Milpitas officers arrived at the residence within two minutes, the suspect was not located. The resident told police she had seen a suspicious man knocking on her front door about 20 minutes prior to the burglary.

The next afternoon, another resident on the 1400 block of Lassen Avenue called Milpitas Police to report a man in the backyard of her residence. Again, the report indicated the man knocked on the front door to her residence about 20 minutes before going into the backyard.
When Milpitas officers arrived in the area within minutes, he slipped away. The resident’s security camera captured video of the suspect and provided it to officers.

Then, a Milpitas Police officer saw Tahiry sitting on a bench on the 1400 block of Lassen Avenue on Monday. The officer recognized the suspect from the surveillance footage provided to police. Tahiry provided a false name to officers and appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Officers searched Tahiry and located a small quantity of crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and property stolen from the first residence.
