Inmate Who Dies In Santa Clara County Jail ID'd
Isai Lopez, 22, was found unresponsive in his cell, while serving time on multiple assault charges.
SAN JOSE, CA -- An inmate died Sunday night in a cell in the Santa Clara County main jail in San Jose, Santa Clara County sheriff's officials said today. The 23-year-old man was found unresponsive at 8:06 p.m. in his
cell at the jail at 150 W. Hedding St.
Deputies and jail medical staff attempted to save the man's life but he was pronounced dead at 8:21 p.m. by San Jose Fire Department paramedics. The man may have committed suicide. He was booked into the jail on
Sept. 16, for several alleged assault offenses.
The Sheriff's Department indicated the cause could be suicide.
