Man Arrested On DUI, Manslaughter Charges In Santa Clara Fatal Crash
A San Jose man has been arrested on vehicular manslaughter and DUI charges after a Santa Clara crash he was allegedly involved in on Sunday.

SANTA CLARA - A San Jose man has been arrested on vehicular manslaughter and DUI charges after a Santa Clara crash he was allegedly involved in on Sunday resulted in the death of a 65-year-old Sunnyvale woman.
According to Santa Clara police, the victim, Carmencita Manaios, was driving a 2000 Honda Accord northbound on Lick Mill Blvd. about 5:40 p.m., turning westbound onto Tasman Dr.
Police say her vehicle was struck by a 2001 Ford F150 traveling eastbound on Tasman Dr. driven by the suspect, Nestor Alegria-Hernandez.

According to police, the collision occurred in the intersection, and Manaios died as a result of her injuries.
34-year-old Nestor Alegria-Hernandez had minor injuries in the crash and was transported and released from a local hospital, according to authorities.

Police say Algeria-Hernandez was arrested and booked into County Jail on one count of Vehicular Manslaughter and two counts of DUI with an Injury.
The second count comes from a passenger that was allegedly in the Algeria-Hernandez truck.
Police say the Ford F150 ended up blocking VTA light rail train tracks, which forced the agency to suspend train service until traffic investigators concluded their investigation at the scene.
