Man Shot, Stabbed Near Alum Rock Park; Suspect Arrested

The San Jose suspect, who knows the victim, was found by deputies and charged with attempted murder.

ALUM ROCK, CA -- A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing and shooting a victim in unincorporated Alum Rock on Monday evening, Santa Clara County sheriff's officials said today. Deputies responded to a report of a man covered in blood walking on Laumer Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. Monday and learned that a 30-year-old victim had suffered at least one gunshot wound and one stab wound, sheriff's
officials said.

The injuries were not life-threatening and the victim was taken to a hospital.

The suspect had already driven away from the scene before deputies arrived. Sheriff's officials said the suspect and the victim knew each other. The suspect was identified as San Jose resident Dandre Hill, and
deputies located him riding in a vehicle on northbound U.S. Highway 101 near North First Street at about 10 p.m. Monday.

Hill was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was booked into Santa Clara County Jail without bail.
