MILPITAS, CA — Two men arrested in Santa Clara County last week are accused of posing as police officers and robbing a victim in Milpitas. Investigators believe the pair may be connected to similar cases in two other cities.

Milpitas police allege the men confronted a victim and demanded his wallet at a shopping center near South Park Victoria Drive and East Calaveras Boulevard. Police said the thieves fled in a silver Ford Expedition, which automatic license plate readers detected on its way out of town.

Officers worked with their colleagues at the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office to pull the SUB over on Highway 880, near Montague Expressway. Police apprehended a 20-year-old man from Washington and a 19-year-old from Florida. Both men were booked into jail on suspicion of robbery, false impersonation of an officer and conspiracy.
