Milpitas Homeless Woman Arrested on Suspicion of Residential Burglary

Maria Morales was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

MILPITAS, CA — A transient woman was arrested Thursday on suspicion of residential burglary at a Milpitas apartment, police said.

At approximately 6:15 p.m., a resident called Milpitas police to report hearing noises coming from a bedroom in their apartment, in the 1500 block of East Calaveras Boulevard. Police arrived and saw 36-year-old transient Maria Diana Morales between the bushes and the apartment building.

Morales leaned into the apartment through an open window and took a box of the apartment resident's items.
Morales was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
