Milpitas Vehicle Theft Suspects Had Paper Plates: Police

MILPITAS - Milpitas police on Tuesday arrested two 24-year-old suspects in a local parking lot after an officer noticed their car had a paper license plate and no temporary registration attached to it.

According to Milpitas authorities, Morgan Hill resident Randy Felix Fassmaes and Los Banos resident Karina Yvette Pena were detained in the 7-Eleven parking lot on W. Calaveras Blvd. as they got out of their gray colored 2009 Toyota Camry.

Police say Randy Fassmaes and Karina Pena provided false names to the Milpitas officer as he questioned them, and Fassmaes had a suspected stolen driver’s license and credit card as well as several rounds of ammunition.

Responding officers learned the Toyota had been reported as stolen from Rohnert Park, and say the two suspects were taken into custody.

Police say Randy Fassmaes is a convicted felon with prior auto theft convictions.

He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for possessing a stolen vehicle with a prior auto theft conviction; possessing stolen property; being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition; providing a false name to an office; and an outstanding warrant according to authorities.

Karina Yvette Pena was booked for possessing a stolen vehicle; possessing stolen property; providing a false name to an officer; driving with a suspended driver’s license; and several outstanding warrants.
