Police Dog Sniffs Out Drugs At Elmwood: Sheriff

The sheriff's office said an investigation revealed an inmate worked with people on the outside to have drugs thrown onto the campus.

MILPITAS, CA — K-9 teams assigned to the Elmwood Correctional Facility in Milpitas recently uncovered hidden drugs while patrolling the prison, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.

In a social media post Monday, investigators said K-9 Ollie was working the perimeter of the complex when he discovered three tennis balls wrapped in tape and filled with drugs.

In another case, the sheriff's office said the same K-9 alerted to nearly a dozen bindles containing controlled substances and two straws filled with contraband on a sundeck.
